"How Do We Honor My Parent's Generation That Believed In Honesty, Integrity and Hard Work?"

Dear Friends who posted their stories about their parents on the Warrior Forum,

It is replies like yours that give me the strength to carry on and deal with my grief and loneliness. Your story about your dad brought tears to my eyes as I remember the Air Force honor guard folding the American flag on my dad's coffin and presenting it to me with a salute and a statement of appreciation for both my mom and dad's service during World War II.

"Treasure Each Moment With Your Loved Ones Because It May Be Your Last!"

It is so hard to deal with the loss of your parents, especially if you loved them and they loved and supported you for so many years. When you calculate how much time, money and energy it takes to raise and help kids over a life time it is astronomical…I think in the area of $1,000,000 per child.

"Burying My Dad Next to My Mom Is The Toughest Day Of My Life"

Today we bury my dad right next to my mom. It is hard to believe these two heroes are gone from the face of the earth. I guess burying my dad will bring some closure to my sorrow and grief but still the emotional pain is hard to manage.

"The Greatest Part Of Our Happiness Or Misery Depends On Our Dispositions and Not On Our Circumstances" by Martha Washington

The greatest part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances. Martha Washington

This is such a profound statement by the wife of George Washington. If you have studied the history of the United States Martha was the ultimate supportive wife. They went through events that were tragic as well as miraculous.

What Does It All Mean When Death Of A Father Rocks Your World?

Well, now that my dad is gone, "What now?"

After spending 3 years taking care of my mom and 4 years taking care of my dad 24-7, there is a big hole in my life. Getting up a couple times a night to change diapers, get water, adjust night clothing, pray with them to help them overcome nightmares, dealing with no sense of time or what day it was, etc. was a daily challenge…no sleep, emotional angst, constant depression.

Again, thank you for your prayers.

My dad remains peaceful and in no pain. The nurses from hospice remark that they have never seen someone who looks so peaceful. I know the prayers of the thousands of people who are praying for my dad and family are working amazingly well…supernaturally powerful.

"My Dad and Family Is Experiencing A Peace That Transcends Understanding"

Dear Friends,
Again, words cannot express my sincere gratitude for you kind and uplifting words.

Your prayers are definitely working…big time. My dad is at peace, without a wrinkle in his face.
My entire family is experiencing a peace that goes beyond understanding. All the fighting and bickering that usually takes place when a parent is dying, has been replaced by a true joy for my dad being released from his suffering.

"Thank You For Your Prayers"

Thank you for your prayers.

My dad has suffered no pain and appears at peace. He is in a coma and is just waiting for his body to pass away.

I expect his heart will stop beating some time on Monday or Tuesday, the crossover of his 23 day physical biorhythm cycle. It seems that many of the people I know died on a biorhythm crossover including my mom, my two uncles and Gary Halbert, a famous copywriter I had the privilege of videotaping his memorial and farewell party.
